Mission

The mission of Ballin’ For Peace-NSW, a California 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, is to provide at-risk youth with lifestyle alternatives to gangs and violence through positive extracurricular activities. People from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds are welcome to participate in a variety of interactive and engaging activities that include workshops, coaching, panel discussions, conferences, and open forums to promote the exchange of ideas. To achieve our mission, we sponsor outreach activities such as spectator celebrity basketball games, live entertainment, and educational workshops.

Vision

Our vision is to use recreation, entertainment, and knowledge to positively impact the lives of individuals from all walks of life, especially those from at-risk backgrounds, and encourage them to “take a peaceful approach to life.” We are committed to showing our participants the value of embracing diversity, developing empathy for others, and improving their own life outcomes.

One of our goals is to remove or override negative messages glorifying violence and crime that can lead young people, especially underserved youth, on a self-destructive path. To eradicate negative ideas and self-images, we create fun activities and disseminate practical information that inspires hope, enriches lives, and strengthens community relationships to produce safer and healthier neighborhoods.
